The last photo

Schnauzi in her last rays of sunshine - May 23, 2009

The lavender delphinium is about to bloom on Schnauzi's grave

The young pear tree will provide cool shade.
My little granddaughter Julia said she will bring many
flowers tomorrow.  And I am filled with gratitude for
having had this sweet dog in my life for 14 years.

I can feel your sadness. There were tears in my eyes as I read your words. I know you and Schnauzi love each other very much.

Godspeed Schnauzi.

She certainly loved her sun patch, didn't she? I really like that picture.
The delphinium is going to be gorgeous when it blooms. Are those the rocks you said you had been collecting for a long time? She was probably with you on every trip where you picked up a new one, huh? :-)

I know how difficult it is in losing a dog. They are a loved one and a member of your family. I am very sorry for the difficult decision you had to make, but it sounds like it was the best one. I pray that you will be comforted in this time of sadness.

Oh my goodness...I haven't been paying attention to the blogs this week and i just read your sad posts. Dear friend, i do know how sad and lonely you feel right now. I have lost too many old dogs who were by far the best and dearest friends a body could ever wish for. I am getting ready to loose another one soon. He is turning 15 next month and all the signs are there...My heart breaks for you, and i am sending prayers up for you and your sweet little dog. love, mare

It was a hard decision to make but we love them too much to see them suffer. I have tears for you Danni's mom, I know you will miss her so much. Keep the happy memories close.

Zitrone-
I hear you're looking for me! I don't have a blog, but I think you should be able to see my email address now.

Yes, farmgirl_dk, Schnauzi personally inspected each of those rocks as I collected them over the years.

Thank you, all of you, your words are helping me so much in my grief.

I am sorry about your loss, too.
I had to put down my favorite cat a couple of years ago and it was very painful, too. And I can't even think about when my dog will have to go...we love our animals so much.
Herzliches Beileid!

I am here from Danni's blog and I am so very sorry for the loss of your little companion. Schnauzer's are one of the most loving and sweet dogs. I think her resting place is indeed a lovely one. Hugs.

Such a sweet dog and I'm so sorry for your loss. You made a nice place for Schnauzi. Perhaps Schnauzi is visiting with our Buddy dog (looks a lot like Roxie) who went to doggy heaven a couple of years ago after 15 years with me. It just breaks your heart, but you cared wonderfully for that baby and she obviously loved you, too. I know you think of her often and tears are OK. I'm thinking of you.
